What we collect right now

Nothing. ADULTPLANTS is a static site with no accounts, no forms, no comments, no newsletter, no analytics script, and no advertising. We set no cookies and run no third-party trackers. There is no login because there is nothing to log into.

Describing a site as privacy-respecting is easy while it collects nothing. The commitment worth making is the one below: this page gets updated before anything starts collecting, not afterwards.

What our host can see

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and referrer — for delivery, caching and abuse prevention. That happens at the network level and would happen on any host. Cloudflare may set a cookie for security purposes. We do not read that data at an individual level, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Cloudflare's own handling is governed by their privacy policy, which we do not control.

Fonts and embedded content

Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you open a page. Species photographs are hosted by us rather than hotlinked, so viewing one sends nothing to a third party.

What changes, and when

Three things are planned, and each will be described here before it goes live, not after:

• Analytics. To know which pages are read. We intend to use a measurement approach that does not build profiles of individual visitors.
• Advertising and affiliate links. Ad networks set their own cookies and do their own tracking, which is the honest trade for keeping the site free. When ads appear, this page will name the network. Affiliate links will be disclosed on the page before the first one, every time.
• Grower reports. A form for readers to submit what actually happened to their plant. Submissions are the point of the project, so the terms will be specific: what is stored, what is published, and how to have yours removed.

Your rights, and how to use them

Since we hold no personal data, there is currently nothing to request, correct or delete. If that changes, depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to its processing. Write to [email protected] and we will answer.

Children

This site is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, including them.
